'In conclusion, it is apparent that McGowan has done it again. He has created a unit with such wonderful performance and great flexibility that rivals those in the megabuck range...'

'Judged on its own merits, using my fully updated Linn Sondek LP12 turntable with a Linn Ittok tonearm, the GCPH performed very well indeed. The noise level with the low-output AudioQuest 7000nsx cartridge was low enough not to present a problem, and the sound had the same sort of tonal neutrality, combined with high resolution of detail, that characterized the GCC-100.....'

- "I have hooked up two different tube phono preamps to my VPI table and with each one I got awful hum and RFI. I've tried shielded cables and that didn't help. One of the tube phono preamps had balanced outs and that didn't help. Hum and the local radio station competed with the music through the speakers with both units. (Another oddity: When I listened through my headphones, there was absolutely none of the hum or RFI.) However, when I hooked up things through the PS Audio GCPH...it all cleared up. Virtually no hum or RFI. Same table, same cables, same everything, except the phono preamp. "

- "This phono preamp is a winner. Where do I start? Fine detail, plenty of warmth and pace, and very, very quiet. An affordable, fully adjustable phono preamp that suits all of my moving coil and moving magnet cartridges. Congratulations on introducing another signature product. "

- "I have a GCPH, and I think it's outstanding. I'm currently using it with three quite different cartridges; a 6.8mV Rega Exact moving magnet, a .3mV low output Dynavector DV20-XL moving coil, and a 2.5mV Sumiko Blackbird moving coil. I think this preamp is the best choice for the money and then some. It is certainly the best of the pre-preamps I have (Primare R20, Klyne SK, and Dynavector P75). I will say the Dynavector cartridge matches very well with the P75, but it's certainly not better than the GCPH, and to change any settings, the P75 requires removal of the case cover, and some fiddling with jumpers. Some time ago, I briefly heard the battery operated Sutherland, and I recall that it was superb, but at 3 times the price it should be. I recommend the GCPH without hesitation for its audio presentation, low noise, ease of use, and the fact that it works well with many cartridges. Thanks, "

- "I was ready to send my GCPH back. It was good, but not the great leap over my CIAudio VPP-1 that I was expecting. I had not gone direct to my Quicksilver M-80 monoblocks as I was using a subwoofer and wanted to continue to use it. However, with time on my hands yesterday I went direct to amps. Wow! Everything got better in a hurry. It was if several layers or veils over the music were lifted with the music emerging from a black background. I listened for hours spinning every genre I had in my collection. This stage really rocks. Smooth, dynamic and detailed. It's not going back now. I was going to go for a used Manley Steelhead; however, I can't imagine it being five times better than the GCPH. By the way, would it be possible to utilize the balanced outputs to feed the powered subwoofer's unbalanced inputs? Happy thankgiving all. (VPI Scout/A-T OC9MLII, Quicksilver M-80 tube monoblocks, Reference 3A diCappo, Kimber cabling. C-J PV-11L now out of chain.)"

- "It's about time you guys made another phono stage! 4.5 stars out of 5 and this is the highest praise I've ever offered a phono stage. Well done!"

- "After burning in my GCPH in for 200 hours using an inverse RIAA white noise file I created and played back at a low volume on a latop, the unit has a nice extended high end, and a liquid smooth and open midrange compared to the phono stage in my well respected preamp. Considering the GCPH's versatility and true balanced design in to out, the unit seems like a great value. Once again PS Audio proves what can be done at realistic prices music lovers can afford"
